Love In...

1967 was the summer of love, celebrated by an explosion in art, music and fashion, remembered for the momentum and drive of a generation of youth whose culture remains with us and influences us to this day. Since then, especially after the 1980s (The Reagan Era), modern youth culture has been propogandized to reflect only on the negative aspects of the once spiritually free culture of the '60s. "Tune in, turn on and drop out," and "Make love, not war," have been convoluted into "Just say no," and "The war on terrorism."

Artopium's Love In is a modern recreation of the spirit and renaissance that culminated from the 1960s. With our own style and flare, we will bring you a revival of the free-autonomous zone through liberated body painting, live free-for-all paint walls, daisies and other flowers for your loved one, or a kiss if you don't have one. There will be the acid jazz jam band Audiopium and trance DJ Force Majeure spinning all night, along with a fashion show presented by this generation's most free-spirited clothing designers and fashion stores.

All of this will take place in the one and only Pearl Street Co-op, which is furnished with a swimming pool, sundeck, game room, dance area, and is inhabited by a lot of cool-minded, free-spirited youth ready to bring the feeling and spirit of the '60s back into our own generation.
